Just the Ticket: Praha-Bubeneč railway station turns into café and community centre
The historical Bubeneč train station has opened its doors as 'Stanice6', a new pub and cultural centre. This comes ten years after the station served its last train.
First built in 1850 under Franz Joseph I, the station was the second oldest in Prague. Architect Antonín Jüngling designed the small station in the late classical style. At 23 minutes to midnight on August 28th 2014, the last train departed from Bubeneč train station.
After Prague city authorities took over the property, 'Re_place' experts in repurposing disused spaces won the tender to renovate the building. Ten years later, the renovated 'Stanice6' opened as a multifunctional space.
Stanice 6 is located at Goetheho bus stop in Prague 6, and the opening hours are 2 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and 10 a.m. to midnight on weekends.
