Jazz meets electro on joint album by Tomáš Sýkora and Aid Kid
Jazz pianist and composer Tomáš Sýkora and his trio have teamed up with electronica artist Aid Kid to produce Alchemy, a dynamic and highly original fusion of jazz and electronic music. You can listen to it in this edition of Sunday Music Show.
Tomáš Sýkora comes from Nymburk, a small town in Central Bohemia. He studied composition and piano at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, and continued his studies at the Academy of Music. As a composer, he creates original and highly personal music while fusing various music genres.
As a performer he regularly collaborates with leading Czech ensembles and orchestras. In 2018, he founded his own piano ensemble, called Tomáš Sýkora Trio, which also includes Tomáš Liška on bass and Roman Vícha on drums. Last year, they released their first album called Alchemy, created together with electronica musician Aid Kid.
