Javelin thrower Sičaková wins silver at U23 European Championships

Czech javelin thrower Petra Sičaková claimed the silver medal at the U23 European Athletics Championships in Bergen, Norway. Her best throw of 58.14 meters secured her second place behind Serbia’s Adriana Vilagošová, who dominated the competition with a winning throw of 62.41 meters. Sičaková admitted she had aimed higher: “I wanted to win, I won’t hide it. Sixty-two meters were within my reach. But I’m still very happy,” she said. Jan Výška finished fourth with a personal best of 77.60 meters. The Czech team now holds two medals after Karolína Maňasová’s 100 m sprint gold on Friday.
