Jágr says return to professional hockey unlikely
Czech hockey legend Jaromír Jágr says he has not officially ended his playing career, but a return to professional hockey now seems unlikely. In an interview for the NHL website, the 54-year-old said the demands of training and preparation no longer make sense if he only plays a few minutes per game.
Jágr last appeared in a competitive match for Kladno on December 21 last year in an Extraliga game against Liberec.
The most productive European player in NHL history said he still skates occasionally but does not expect to play another professional game.
