Ivana Trump dies at her New York home aged 73
Ivana Trump, the Czechoslovak born businesswoman and ex-wife of former US President Donald Trump, has died at the age of 73, the website of ABC News reported on Thursday, citing the Trump family as the source. Mrs Trump passed away at her home in New York City, Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that she was a “wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life”.
According to ABC correspondent Aaron Katersky: “Ivana Trump was found unconscious and unresponsive at the bottom of a set of stairs in her apartment. The police are investigating whether she fell and, if so, whether the fall contributed in any way to her death”.
Born Ivana Zelníčková in the Moravian city of Zlín in 1949, Ivana Trump was considered an accomplished skier in her early life and was the first wife of Donald Trump. The two were prominent figures in New York society throughout the 1980s. They had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Erik Trump.
After divorcing her husband in 1992, Ivana Trump wrote several books and took part in a wide range of business ventures.
