Israeli National Theatre performs in Prague
Cultural links between the Czech Republic and Israel are receiving a boost this week thanks to two performances being staged by the Israeli National Theatre here in Prague. Peter Smith went out to find out more:
The Habima Theatre, Israel's national theatre company, with a musical number from Brecht's Caucus Chalk Circle. The play is being staged as part of the Prague German Language Theatre festival, and will be translated simultaneously from Hebrew into German. It's a chance for Czech audiences to experience the valuable political and educational role that theatre fills in Israel, as Habima's Director, Jaacov Agmon explained: You might just be able to catch the second and final Habima performance of The Caucus Chalk Circle on Thursday 16th at the Theatre na Vinohradech on Namesti Miru.
