International survey finds Czech children's screen time one of highest

Czech children spend too much time in front of screens, according to an international survey comparing children's activity levels in 57 countries across six continents.

Czechia ranked among the top ten countries in the survey, published in a report by the international non-profit organization Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance, in terms of opportunities for physical activities, but despite the adequacy of available options, the country numbered among the worst in terms of sedentary activity and time spent in front of screens.

The scientists from Olomouc's Palacký University who provided the data on Czech children informed the Czech News Agency that the data was from 2018 and 2019, i.e. before the covid-19 pandemic and its associated restrictions on physical activity.
