Czech govt approves 150 troops for Afghan mission

The Czech government has approved plans to send up to 150 troops to join U.S.-led operations in Afghanistan. Under the Czech plan, elite reconnaissance specialists will join forces in the region, which are attempting to destroy resistance loyal to the Taliban and al Qaeda.

Poll shows Polish government's popularity at new low

The popularity of Polish Prime Minister's governing party has hit a new low. According to latest opinion polls Leszek Miller's Democratic Left Alliance has just 17 percent support. This is the lowest recorded support for his party since the early 1990s.

Slovakia's police have unveiled a special unit dedicated to fighting neo-Nazism and racism. The new unit will concentrate on prosecuting those who publish literature, distribute compact discs or operate Internet sites that promote fascism or racism.
