Industry confederation warns Dukovany contract delay harms Czech energy and business

The Czech Industry Confederation has voiced concern over the postponed signing of a key contract for two new nuclear units at Dukovany. President Jan Rafaj called the court-ordered delay a negative signal for the energy sector, businesses, and consumers. The Brno Regional Court blocked the deal at the request of France’s EDF, which is contesting the outcome of the tender won by South Korea’s KHNP. Rafaj welcomed that KHNP still signed cooperation agreements with Czech firms, and urged continued efforts to ensure their involvement in what will be the country’s biggest-ever infrastructure project.
