Hundreds march through Prague in support of Palestine
Several hundred people marched through the centre of Prague on Saturday afternoon to demonstrate their support for Palestine. Protesters demanded an end to Israeli retaliatory attacks and increased humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, the release of Palestinian prisoners and political negotiations for a just solution to the conflict. They also criticized the pro-Israeli stance of the Czech government, arguing that in this way the country is participating in genocide. The march was organized by The Friends of Palestine Association, Prague4PalestineYouth and the International Solidarity Movement. According to Prague police spokesperson Jan Rybanský, an estimated 1, 200 to 1, 400 people joined the protest, which was peaceful. A police anti-conflict team was on the scene but did not have to intervene.
