Head of Digital Information Agency resigns after election app glitches

Labour and Social Affairs Minister Marian Jurečka (Christian Democrats) has accepted the resignation of Digital Information Agency chief Martin Mesršmíd, effective October 23, in connection with the technical problems that made it difficult for some voters to verify their identity at polling stations. Many were forced to return home for a physical ID card or passport so as to able to cast their vote. The agency is now expected to analyze the problems that occurred. It said earlier that they were likely due to overload.
