Guarneri Trio Prague finishes its 35th season
The Guarneri Trio Prague is one of the world’s most renowned piano trios. Founded by Ivan Klanský on piano, Čeněk Pavlík on violin, and Marek Jerie on the cello, the Trio has had the same line-up since 1986, and has just finished its 35th season.
The ensemble drew the attention of the international press early in its career with its artistically spectacular performances. It performs regularly at international music festivals and at prestigious concert venues around the world, in cities like London, Paris, Prague, Madrid, Geneva, Hamburg and Tokyo, and has toured throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and China.
The ensemble bears the name of the makers of the string instruments used by the Trio. Čeněk Pavlík plays the famous “Zimbalist“ violin made by Guarneri del Gesù, while Marek Jerie plays a cello made by Andrea Guarneri in 1684.
The trio’s cellist said in a recent interview for Radio Prague that Antonín Dvořák’s Dumky always goes down well with audiences, including at their anniversary concert last year at Prague’s Rudolfinum.
