Northern lights to be visible over Czechia on last day of the year
The phenomenon of aurora borealis, commonly known as the northern lights, may once again be visible in the Czech Republic on the last day of the year, although weather conditions may limit visibility, Petr Horálek from the Institute of Physics in Opava informed the public. Venus should also be visible with the naked eye where conditions allow. Detailed information about space events in the coming year can be found on the Institute's website.
For those interested in observing the aurora, the astronomer recommends the websites www.solarham.com or www.spaceweatherlive.com, or the mobile app Aurora Alerts.
