Gratias agit 2025 will honour 9 inividuals and 1 organization promoting Czechia abroad
Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský will award the 2025 Gratias agit prizes in the Grand Hall of the Czernin Palace in Prague. The award, established in 1997, recognizes people and institutions from around the world who have promoted Czechia through long-term civic engagement.
The Gratias agit award is not associated with any financial reward. Since 2023, laureates have received a symbolic crystal seal designed by Klára Janypková and Tomáš Kučera. The recognition is reserved for individuals and groups whose activities—often selfless and beyond their formal duties—have contributed significantly to enhancing Czechia’s reputation abroad.
Anyone may nominate candidates for the award, regardless of their nationality or current place of residence. The ceremony has become a key event in Czech public diplomacy and is traditionally held in early summer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among this year’s 9 recipients (and 1 organization) are Czech-Swiss publisher Otakar Božejovský von Rawennoff and Grace Mboizi, head of the Archdiocesan Charity Prague mission in Uganda.
