Government raising living and subsistence minimums

The Czech government is going to increase the national living minimum and the subsistence minimum by 10 percent from Friday, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs said on Wednesday. The move comes against a backdrop of soaring prices.

The amounts play a role in assessing entitlement to state aid as well as in determining the level of certain benefits.

The living minimum is now CZK 3,860 a month for an adult living alone. The subsistence minimum is CZK 2,490 a month.
