Girl collapses in Hradec Králové after consuming jelly sweets containing muscimol

A pupil at a school in Hradec Králové collapsed after eating candies containing muscimol, a narcotic and hallucinogenic compound found in  Amanita muscaria and related species of mushroom, Czech Radio reported on Thursday.

The jelly sweets containing this substance can be purchased without restriction on the Internet, simply by conforming that the buyer is over 18 years of age.

The Czech government recently imposed a ban on the sale of the psychoactive substances HHC, HHC-O and THCP in response to a number of children and adolescents ending up in hospital after overdosing on products containing them.
