Germany to donate tanks to CR, significant purchase also being discussed

Germany is to donate 15 Leopard 2A4 tanks to the Czech Republic, while both states have also launched talks on the Prague government buying up to 50 of the most modern Leopard tanks, the 2A7+. The purchase could go ahead in the coming years, the Czech minister of defence, Jana Černochová, told the cabinet at a meeting on Thursday.

The donated tanks may reach the Czech Army this year, a Czech Ministry of Defence spokesperson said. They would then undergo modernisation.
