Georgian ambassador to Czechia resigns, citing belief in EU future
Georgian Ambassador to Czechia Tea Maisuradze announced her resignation on X, citing her belief in Georgia's future within the European Union. "It was a great honor to serve my country's national interests for nearly two decades, supporting its European and Euro-Atlantic integration while defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity," said Maisuradze, who has led the Georgian embassy in Prague since last year. Her resignation comes amid protests in Georgia following the ruling Georgian Dream party’s decision to suspend EU accession talks until 2028. Critics accuse the party of steering the country toward Russian influence. Several Georgian ambassadors, including in the U.S., have stepped down in protest.
