Fraud case relating to PM Babiš returned to police for further investigation
The Czech state attorney, Jaroslav Šaroch, on Tuesday returned a case of alleged subsidy fraud relating to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš to the police for further investigation. A spokesperson for the Prague prosecutor’s office said that the reason was the uncovering of new information after the police had concluded their original investigation.
Mr. Babiš is suspected of wrongfully acquiring CZK 50 million in European Union funds for a conference centre near Prague known as Stork’s Nest. He denies any wrongdoing.
