Forum 2000 award presented to Chinese journalist Zhang Zhan
The Forum 2000 International Award for Courage and Responsibility was presented in Prague on Thursday to Chinese citizen journalist and activist Zhang Zhan, who was imprisoned by the Chinese government for reporting the truth about the Covid epidemic in Wuhan. The award was received by Xiao Quing, editor in chief of the California-based China Digital Times.
The event was attended by Speaker of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil and former Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová. The 26th edition of the Forum 2000 international conference kicked off in Prague on Wednesday, focusing on threats to democracy and the response to them. It also features a special Forum for Ukraine addressing the country’s post-war future.
