Chinese embassy opposes Taiwanese ex-president's visit to Prague

The Chinese Embassy in Prague has raised objections to the visit of former Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, who attended the Forum 2000 conference and met with top Czech lawmakers on Monday. In a statement, the embassy urged Czech authorities to uphold the one-China principle and respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

At the Forum 2000 event, Tsai spoke of Taiwan's decades-long struggle with Chinese intimidation, which has intensified as international support for Taiwan has grown. During her visit, she met with Senate President Miloš Vystrčil and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová, both of whom have previously visited Taiwan.
