Foreigners legally living in Czechia to have Covid vaccine costs covered by Health Ministry
Foreigners who are long-term legal residents in the Czech Republic will have their COVID-19 vaccines paid for from the budget of the Ministry of Health. The only thing that they will have to pay for is the application of the vaccine itself, Health Minister Adam Vojtěch said on Wednesday. The free coverage, is valid from now, according to the health minister.
During Wednesday’s meeting, the government also approved compulsory testing of unvaccinated hospital and other care facility workers from next Monday, November 15. These tests will be conducted regularly once a week.
From November 15 it will also be compulsory for university students to wear respirators in teaching rooms exceeding 50 people in size, the health minister said.
Further measures aimed at curbing the spread of the epidemic will be discussed on Friday, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said. He also ruled out the possibility of a lockdown.
