Foreign minister Macinka calls court ruling on NATO summit an 'attempted coup'
Foreign Minister Petr Macinka (Motorists) has described the Constitutional Court's interim ruling allowing President Petr Pavel to join the Czech delegation to the NATO summit as an "attempted constitutional coup." Despite his criticism, Macinka said the government would comply with the decision and accredit the president on Thursday. He said Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) would lead the delegation, while the government will decide next week what role Pavel will play at the summit. Macinka also criticised the court's unusually swift decision, while Motorists politician Filip Turek questioned the court's impartiality and called for its abolition.
