Five people charged with stealing information from criminal proceedings

The Prague Chief Prosecutor's Office has charged five people of having removed information from criminal proceedings. A Prague prosecutor, one anti-corruption unit officer and three ex-policemen have been charged in the case commonly referred to as “Beretta”, Czech Television reports.

According to the prosecution, the head of the anti-corruption police unit Radek Holub, along with Prague prosecutor Dagmar Máchová and a Central Bohemian customs officer illegally fed information to a private detective, who then supplied it to his clients.

Cases allegedly impacted by the defendants’ activity include corruption scandals at the Na Homolce hospital in Prague and at the capital’s Public Transit Company.
