First tropical day recorded in South Moravia, Dyjákovice hits 31°C

Over the weekend, meteorologists recorded this year's first tropical temperatures in South Moravia, with Dyjákovice reaching 31°C. Temperature records for this time in May fell at nine weather stations across the region, according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. Pohořelice reported 29.7°C, surpassing a 50-year-old record, while Brno-Žabovřesky and Lednice both reached 29.6°C, also breaking previous highs. Strong thunderstorms with potential hail and strong wind gusts developed near Břeclav, moving eastward.
