First part of US military convoy to enter Czechia on Sunday
The first part of a US military convoy, which is heading from Germany to a NATO military training exercise in Hungary, is due to enter the Czech Republic in the early hours of Sunday and spend the day at a camp near the town of Jihlava.
The convoy, made up of close to 200 US military vehicles and 600 US soldiers, is divided into three groups and will be on the move mainly in the night hours, so as not to block traffic. It should not be on Czech territory for longer than 48 hours.
Since 2015, US soldiers have been regularly crossing the Czech Republic on their way to the Defender Europe exercise. The only exception was last year, when it was cancelled due to coronavirus.
