Firefighters dismantle roof of burned pool in Český Krumlov, walls to be demolished

Firefighters in Český Krumlov have dismantled the roof of the swimming pool facility following a fire that broke out on Saturday morning. Heavy equipment has been used to assist in extinguishing lingering hotspots under the roof. The next step will be the demolition of the building's walls, confirmed town officials. The damage caused by the fire, estimated at 20 million CZK, has rendered the facility irreparable, and plans for a new pool are underway. The fire was likely caused by improper handling of fire during the removal of a wasp nest, with authorities investigating the case as public endangerment.
