Finance minister not ruling out partial privatization of Prague Airport in future

Finance Minister Alena Schillerová (ANO) has acknowledged that the government may consider partially privatizing Prague Airport in the future, although she said no concrete steps are currently being taken.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has previously suggested the state could float a minority stake in the airport operator on the stock exchange.

Airport trade unions remain on strike alert, citing the privatization plans among their concerns.

The opposition has also criticized the proposal, arguing that Prague Airport is both a profitable company and a critical piece of national infrastructure that should remain under full state ownership.

Industry experts, however, note that shared ownership of airports is common across Europe.
