Czech Foreign Ministry warns against travel to Saudi Arabia over Houthi attacks
The Czech Foreign Ministry has warned against travel to Saudi Arabia following attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels on airports and other infrastructure in the country. The updated travel advisory was published on the ministry's website on Saturday evening.
The ministry warned that even airports that remain open could face closures. Saudi Arabia reopened Riyadh's airport to international flights on Sunday.
As of Sunday, 72 Czech citizens were registered in the ministry's Drozd traveller registration system in Saudi Arabia and three in Yemen, ministry spokesman Adam Čörgő told the Czech News Agency. At the beginning of last week, when the ministry advised travelling to Saudi Arabia only in absolutely necessary cases, 85 people were registered in Saudi Arabia and 16 in Yemen.
