Fiala says outgoing government parties must prepare for strong opposition role
Prime Minister and Civic Democrats (ODS) leader Petr Fiala said the outgoing coalition parties must prepare for “intensive opposition work” following their election defeat. Speaking after his meeting with President Petr Pavel at Prague Castle, Fiala said it was logical that ANO leader Andrej Babiš, as the election winner, would be tasked with forming a new government. He added that discussions on how to coordinate opposition activity will take place in the coming weeks. Fiala called the Spolu coalition a successful project and said he wants to work with its partners and the Pirates to offer voters an effective and credible opposition.
