Fiala honors three women from Czech community in Britain

During his visit to Britain, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala (Civic Democratic Party) awarded the Karel Kramář Medal to three women active in the Czech expatriate community. Among them was 95-year-old Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines, one of the so-called Winton children rescued before World War II. Grenfell-Baines is known for promoting Czech-British relations and Czech culture. Awards also went to Jana Nahodilová and Zuzana Jungmanová, directors of Czech schools in the UK. Fiala presented the medals at the Czech embassy in London, marking the first time he awarded them abroad rather than in Prague’s Kramář Villa.
