Fiala congratulates Babiš, pledges smooth handover

Outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala congratulated ANO Party leader Andrej Babiš on his appointment as prime minister, saying Babiš and his team will have full use of the government’s Hrzánský Palace until the rest of the cabinet is named. Fiala wrote on X that his cabinet will ensure a smooth transfer of power. Members of the future opposition also issued congratulations, some adding remarks about Babiš’s conflict of interest or urging him to end divisive rhetoric. They stressed need for vigilance over public funds and adherence to NATO and EU commitments.
