Electric car sales in Czechia up 17 percent

Sales of new electric cars in Czechia rose by 17 percent year-on-year to 6,479 vehicles in the first five months of the year. Their share of the new car market increased to 6.3 percent.

Registrations of hybrid cars also grew, rising by 15 percent to nearly 30,000 vehicles. Hybrids now account for almost a third of all new cars sold.

Overall new car sales were up three percent, reaching more than 103,000 vehicles by the end of May.
