Economist and philosopher Tomáš Sedláček becomes Director of Václav Havel Library

Tomáš Sedláček, an economist, philosopher, and former advisor to President Václav Havel, has been appointed as the new director of the Václav Havel Library. The institution announced his selection by its board after the resignation of former director Milan Babík last October. Sedláček aims to establish the library as a global platform promoting Havel’s values and optimism. Founded in 2004, the library collects materials on Havel, publishes books, and organizes public events. It is supported by the Zdeněk and Michaela Bakala Foundation.
