Drivers can now test 150 km/h speed on part of D3 motorway

Motorists in South Bohemia can now drive up to 150 km/h on the D3 motorway between Planá nad Lužnicí and Úsilné near České Budějovice. The 47-kilometre stretch is part of a pilot project by the Transport Ministry to assess whether higher speeds can be introduced safely on modern highways. The test phase will last at least six months and include feedback from drivers and police. The section is equipped with variable signs that automatically adjust the limit depending on weather, road conditions, and traffic. Elsewhere on Czech motorways, the maximum speed remains 130 km/h.
