Driver of vehicle involved in crash with Turek’s car on sick leave
The driver of a hospital vehicle that collided with the car of Motorists MP Filip Turek on Monday is currently on sick leave. However, the University Hospital Motol and Homolka cannot comment on his medical condition. Turek said on Tuesday that he would not carry out his duties as the government’s Green Deal envoy until police decide who was responsible for the accident. If police identify him as the at-fault driver, he said he would resign from the position.
According to footage of the crash published by Seznam Zprávy, the hospital vehicle was sounding its siren while crossing the intersection close to I. P. Pavlova. The MP’s car was the only vehicle to enter the intersection and hit the rear of the hospital vehicle. The impact sent the vehicle into the air, and during its uncontrolled flight it passed within several metres of a group of pedestrians waiting at a crossing. Emergency responders took its driver to a trauma centre with multiple injuries.
