Czechs taking part in Giving Tuesday for fifth time

Giving Tuesday, a day when individuals and companies are encouraged to donate to charities, is taking place in the Czech Republic for the fifth time. Organisers say that over the previous four years more than CZK 111 million was collected on this day, along with tonnes of clothing and foodstuffs.

The event was originally created, 12 years ago, in response to Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year in many countries.
