Czechia’s state budget deficit to reach CZK 270 billion in 2023
Czechia’s state budget deficit could reach CZK 270 billion next year, according to the first draft prepared by the Ministry of Finance for 2023.
The draft budget envisages revenues of CZK 1.749 trillion and expenditures of CZK 2.019 trillion. Compared to the government-approved budget amendment for this year, the deficit is lower by CZK 60 billion.
In the medium-term outlook, the ministry proposes a budget deficit of CZK 250 billion for 2024 and CZK 230 billion for 2025. The cabinet must approve the proposal and send it to the Lower House by 30 September.
