Czechia setting up teaching classes for thousands of Ukrainian child refugees

Thousands of children fleeing the conflict in Ukraine have been arriving in the Czech Republic since Russia’s invasion of the country last week. In response, Prague and Brno are setting up small classes of Ukrainian children which will teach in their native language. Only children that can speak basic Czech will be admitted to standard schools, Brno’s Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík told daily Denik N.

The project was set up by the Ukrainian Embassy and the Children of Ukraine Foundation. It is supported by the Education Ministry and Czech cities.
