Czechia sends military medical team to North Macedonia after deadly club fire

The Czech government has approved the deployment of a military medical team to North Macedonia following a deadly nightclub fire in the town of Kočani that killed at least 59 people and injured 155. The team, made up of up to ten personnel from the Central Military Hospital, was flown out overnight on a military aircraft. Defence Minister Jana Černochová and Prime Minister Petr Fiala (both Civic Democratic Party) stressed the importance of solidarity in times of crisis. North Macedonia had earlier requested assistance. According to initial reports, the fire was caused by sparks from pyrotechnics.
