Czechia sees record temperatures, 17.8°C in Pohoří na Šumavě

Czechia broke temperature records today, with 29 long-term stations reporting new highs for January 25. Pohoří na Šumavě recorded 17.8°C, though this was deemed an isolated extreme by meteorologists. Other notable records included 14.6°C in Zlaté Hory, 14.3°C in Kašperské Hory, and 12.9°C in Přimda, the highest January temperature there in 64 years. While many areas experienced spring-like warmth, regions such as the Českomoravská Highlands remained near freezing. More mild weather is expected Sunday, with highs of 4–9°C in most areas and possible snow in the mountains.
