Czechia and Malta have lowest unemployment rate in EU
The European Union's unemployment rate held steady at 5.9 percent in April, the same as in March, according to seasonally adjusted data from Eurostat. Compared to April 2023, it dropped by 0.1 percentage point. The lowest unemployment was recorded in Czechia and Malta, both at 2.7 percent. While Czechia saw a slight month-on-month increase, Malta registered a small decline. Other countries with unemployment under 4 percent include Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Cyprus, and the Netherlands. In the eurozone, unemployment decreased to 6.2 percent. Youth unemployment across the EU stood at 14.8 percent.
