Czech unemployment steady at 4.6 percent in November
Unemployment in Czechia remained one of the lowest in EU at 4.6 percent in November. The number of jobseekers rose only slightly—by about 800 people to roughly 341,000—while the number of vacancies fell by just over 3,000 to about 90,600. A year ago, unemployment stood at 3.9 percent, with around 200,000 people out of work. According to acting Labour Office director Karel Trpkoš, regional changes were minimal. The rate dipped slightly in Central Bohemia and Moravia-Silesia, edged up in South Bohemia, and stayed unchanged in the remaining 11 regions. Unemployment remained highest in the Ústí region at 6.9 percent and lowest in Prague at 3.5 percent.
