Czech students win gold at International Young Physicists' Tournament

A Czech team of high school students has won the gold medal at the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT), held in Zurich, Switzerland, from July 5 to 12.

The competition simulates real scientific research, with students spending a year solving 17 research problems, designing their own experiments, analysing data and developing theoretical models.

During the tournament, they present their findings and defend them in scientific debates before expert judges.

The Czech team outperformed competitors from 35 countries, achieving the country's best result since 1998.
