Czech students receive final report cards as school year ends

Around 1.5 million pupils and students in Czechia recieved their final report cards today, marking the end of the school year. Summer holidays begin on Saturday, June 28, and students will return to classrooms on September 1. Among those finishing the year are about 121,000 first-graders and 106,000 ninth-graders. Education Minister Mikuláš Bek (Mayors and Independents) attended a closing ceremony at a Prague business academy, while President Petr Pavel had no school visits planned. This year also saw continued integration of Ukrainian refugee children, with nearly 40,000 attending primary schools and around 7,000 in secondary education.

Police boosted traffic patrols to ensure safety at the start of the summer break. Some businesses are offering special discounts or symbolic zoo entry for students with report cards.
