Czech retailer Rohlik.cz expands to Bulgaria

Rohlík.cz, the largest Czech online grocery company, has expanded to Bulgaria, the Czech News Agency reported on Thursday. The company has bought a stake in the local e-shop Ebag.bg for one million euros.

Rohlik.cz entered its first foreign market at the end of last year, opening a new online store in Hungary. The founder and majority shareholder of Rohlik.cz, Tomáš Čupr, also plans to expand to Austria and Germany this year.

The company’s turnover exceeded CZK four billion in 2019, which was an increase of 60 percent on the previous year. Rohlik.cz currently has around 450,000 customers.
