Alza doubles net profit to Kč2.3bn, revenue reaches Kč61bn

The biggest Czech online retailer Alza more than doubled its net profit in 2024 to Kč2.3 billion, while revenue rose by a third to Kč61 billion, according to the company’s annual report. Founder Aleš Zavoral said the results reflected a strategic shift toward profitability rather than aggressive revenue growth. Alza reported higher costs for labour, advertising and rents, alongside stronger competition, including from Chinese firms. Despite this, the company expanded its network of delivery lockers, opened new stores abroad and recorded growing sales beyond electronics, including cosmetics, pet supplies and over-the-counter medicines.
