Czech Railways chief: Fares will increase based on inflation by end of year

Czech Railways (České dráhy) will raise ticket prices this December by no more than the rate of inflation, said ČD chairman Michal Krapinec on Czech Television’s Questions of Václav Moravec program. This year’s inflation is expected to stay below three percent. Last December, Czech Railways increased fares by an average of just under five percent. Krapinec added that in recent years, fare increases at ČD have not kept pace with inflation.
