Czech Post to lay off thousands of employees this year
Czechia’s postal service plans to lay off several thousand employees this year due to declining interest in its services, the company’s director Miroslav Štěpán told the news website Seznam Zprávy on Wednesday.
He also confirmed a previously announced plan to close some 300 branches of the postal service. The state-owned company currently operates 3,200 branches and employs about 25,000 people. The lay-offs will concern mail carriers, counter staff as well as administrative workers.
