Czech police investigated over 80 cases of support for Russia’s war in Ukraine
Czech police handled more than 80 cases of people supporting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2024, the ctk news agency reported. The Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office recorded 42 convictions, with most resulting in fines or suspended sentences. The highest number of verdicts was handed out in Prague, Plzeň, and Beroun. Sprees of pro-Russian graffiti and online activity remain the most common offenses. Cases of supporting the Gaza conflict are also under investigation, though prosecutions are fewer. Convictions for endorsing war crimes fall under sections 365 and 405 of the Czech penal code, carrying significant penalties.
